TREE SERIES

I have a deep respect of the tree, which has been nurtured from the very beginning by my family.

Just around the corner from where I was born grows a massive River Red Gum (Eucalyptus Camaldulensis) known as "The Big Tree" which has featured in my childhood adventures. It has a 10 metre girth and was a meeting place for Indigenous peoples before white man appeared. In the last few years, I have explored the life and character of Australian iconic trees. Feeling passionate about the importance of old trees has led me to try and capture their story. Trees compose the landscape, and close observation reveals every twist and turn, bump and knot that is moulded by the force of the elements.
